Gurusoft releases Personal Tutoring System
Trivandrum, August 30, 2000. Gurusoft announced
that the Personal Tutoring System is now available for Standard (Grade) VIII onwards in State (Kerala), CBSE and ISCE Syllabus. It is being launched for VIII, IX and X Std Mathematics. The Science and English curricula will be ready by the end of this year , Dr. B Narayanan Nair, Managing Director or Gurusoft (Pvt) Limited, said.
Gurusoft is a joint venture with Synergy Software Corporation, of New Jersey , USA. Gurusoft products will be available to public through www.gurusan.com which is under development now.
Students whose pace of learning and method of learning best match with those of the teacher benefit most from the teaching. Therefore, all students can not be expected to learn equally from an school based instruction. Some students require additional support even though they are intelligent and self motivated. A slow learner is not necessarily a less intelligent student. Even private tuition does not eliminate the dependency on compatibility of the learning methods of the student and the teacher.
Similarly, a fast learner would like to better her/his insight into the subject for which she/he needs additional input. This is also not available in a general classroom.
Computerized Personnel Tutoring system attempts to provide these in a friendly manner. It has the patience that the human teacher may not have. It is always ready. It is ready to teach when the student is ready to learn. The parents do not have to manage complex logistics to get the student to different teachers at different times and different places.
The software also has a test mode so that the students can practice tests with time limits and grading and get themselves evaluated.
The Tutor series software is licensed for use for a year at the introductory price of Rs 3000.
